David Hume

David Hume is a physicist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Boulder Colorado. His research group pursues precision metrology and quantum information processing using trapped ions. Bringing those two fields together, quantum metrology techniques can improve measurement stability and extend it to otherwise inaccessible atomic systems. Current work focusses on 27Al+ as an optical frequency standard.
